Privacy Policy

tl;dr We don't use, market, or sell your data. You can keep your projections private if you want. We may aggregate your projections to see if we need to modify the difficulty of the games.

  • The only personal data we require is a name and email address.
  • If you create an account here, we agree that it's to play these games and only to play these games. We will never attempt to sell you anything because you have an account here.
  • We prefer you log in with LinkedIn because it's easier to gather than information (and it's one less password to remember). If you don't want to (or don't have a LinkedIn account), you can manually create an account with your name and email address.
  • We only decided to require a login because it would be easier to contact you if you win something. Otherwise, we wouldn't have even added that functionality.
  • We don't track activity on the site other than logins for security purposes. We won't bug you to come back if you take a month or two off, but we will probably send out an email when a new contest is posted so that you don't miss out. You can opt out of that if you'd like. You can also follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn for notifications.
  • We'll never make your projections public or visible without your permission. You can choose to make your projections publicly or anonymously, in case you don't want other people to know what you guessed.
  • If you don't want us to announce you as a winner on our monthly Sales Tax Gameday podcast, that's cool. You'll be able to let us know when you sign up.
  • We do retain your projections so that you can see how you did over time, and whether you're getting any better and projecting.
  • In the future, we might do some aggregate analysis of the projections our players make to see if we need to modify the difficulty of the games. We don't have any well-defined plans to do that, but if the games are too hard, they won't be fun. And if they aren't fun, no one will play, so...
  • The bottom line is, this is just supposed to be a fun way to compete against your friends and colleagues while working on your projection skills. We have no intentions beyond that.
